The DeKalb American Veterans (AMVETS) Post 90 is located at 421 Oak Street, DeKalb, Illinois 60115 and serve veterans and the community. Veteran membership there is free for the first year.
AMVETS starts the 18th Annual Veterans Weekend with a MEET and GREET Party on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 5:00pm that will Honor all Military Personnel and Veterans. We are asking the community to attend the short ceremony at 6:30pm and help us honor them.
There are several activities during the 18th Annual Veterans Weekend on Saturday August 2, 2025 that will be in DeKalb, Sycamore and Genoa and will include a Living History Military Encampment all day Saturday in Genoa, a Veterans and Community French Toast and Sausage Breakfast 8:15am—10:30am in Genoa, a Motorcycle/Motorcade Parade of Vehicles in DeKalb and Sycamore ending in Genoa, a Veterans Awareness Fair from 2:00pm-4:00pm in Genoa and a Corn Boil in Genoa starting at 3:00pm. All events in Genoa will be at the Genoa Veterans Home.
We are asking the community to please come out during the weekend but especially attend the short program on Friday at 6:30pm.
