Adopt a Family Event 2026 – Family Service Agency

Good Afternoon DeKalb County,

My name is Shelby Bontemps; I am the Family Advocate here at the Children’s Advocacy Center through the Family Service Agency. I am responsible for recruiting local sponsors for our Adopt A Family event. Last year we were able to serve around 110 children with gifts and our list of families in need is ever growing. We would love to have DeKalb County residents/companies who are able to join us as a sponsor this year! It is completely up to you how many families/kiddos you are open to sponsoring & there is no min/max requirement. Even one family or child makes a difference.

A little bit about how it works; all of our programs at FSA provide a list of families (and individual kiddos) that are engaged in a service through our agency who may need additional support this holiday season. Then we provide our sponsors with the age, race, clothing sizes, and wish lists/interests of the kiddos they will be shopping for.

Once we assign a family or kiddo to a sponsor, they shop for them and drop off the gifts at the agency. Sponsors can choose to wrap the gifts, or we can wrap them upon drop-off. We schedule times with families to pick up the gifts the week leading up to Christmas. There is no minimum/maximum amount of kiddos or families it is completely up to you.
