Annual Teen Empowerment Summit

Building Leaders Advocating for Change is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization whose mission is to foster academic excellence while providing resources for mental health support, leadership development, and community service opportunities for young men and women in DeKalb IL. Our mission will build a better community and future for our youth. We made significant strides in our efforts, but we can continue to expand our programs with your support. Our Annual Youth Empowerment Summit is one of many pivotal efforts of furthering the commitment to empowering underserved youth in DeKalb. We provide immersive, real-life learning experiences that foster self-growth, teamwork, and resilience. This annual event unites teens from diverse backgrounds for a day of motivation, education, and empowerment, featuring: keynote speakers, workshops, networking, and panel discussions. B.L.A.C. Inc. offers resources to S.T.E.M., summer camp, and scholarships for first-semester college books and supplies. We recognize that every student’s life dynamics are different, and we have atypical students. We understand many students have additional responsibilities while also going to school, such as being responsible for a younger sibling, working, or caring for a sick parent or family member. These life hurdles should not hinder someone from getting a quality education. We seek to provide resources to youth who overcame all obstacles and impact their peers and community.
