The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Matt Duffy, Executive Director of the DeKalb Chamber and CEO of the DeKalb Chamber Foundation, recently participated in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Business Leads Fellowship Program Master Class on K-12 Data, Assessment, and Accountability.
The intensive program kicked off from May 7–8, 2026, in Washington, D.C. Duffy was among a select group of 33 participants from 22 states invited to attend. While the in-person sessions have concluded, the program will continue virtually through the end of the year, featuring a series of expert speakers and collaborative discussions.
The Master Class gathered graduates from each of the 12 previous Business Leads Fellowship Program cohorts. These leaders engaged in high-level discussions regarding the critical role of data and accountability in the K-12 system and how these metrics directly impact the connection between education and the workforce.
“Participating in this Master Class provided a unique opportunity to collaborate with leaders from across the country,” said Matt Duffy. “Sharing insights on how we can better use data to align our educational outcomes with the needs of our local economy is essential to creating a talent pipeline for the continued growth of DeKalb and the surrounding region.”
The program is designed to empower business leaders with the tools and networking necessary to advocate for a more transparent and effective education system. By focusing on data and accountability, participants shared best practices to help bridge the skills gap and improve economic mobility within their respective states and communities.
Duffy’s participation ensures that DeKalb remains at the forefront of national conversations regarding workforce development and educational excellence.
