DeKalb Farmers’ Market Then and Now

Started in 1995, the “Main Street DeKalb Farmers’ Market” featured weekly drawings and children’s entertainment, including a variety of performers, storytellers, singers, and even a petting zoo in downtown alleys! Today, hosted by the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, it features live music in collaboration with the Egyptian Theatre and celebrates National Farmers’ Market Week with raffles and activities. Now situated at Van Buer Plaza, it reflects a dynamic approach to community engagement. This year the DeKalb Farmers’ Market celebrates 29 years of providing our community with local, fresh, and healthy produce.
