“Economic Outlook: Focus on Automation” event comes to DeKalb County

DeKALB – Automation continues to impact the workforce, and an upcoming event aims to help make sense of what it means for local businesses.

Registration is now open for “Economic Outlook: Focus on Automation.” This event will be held from 8:30 am until noon on Friday, August 8 at Faranda’s, 302 Grove Street, DeKalb. This event is hosted by the DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) in partnership with the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) and Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC).

This event features a keynote presentation by Dr. Kristen Broady, Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, plus panels discussing impacts on various industries, financing growth and change, and preparing the workforce. Panelists include Renee Wott, Sr. Northeast Regional Manager, IL Dept. of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO), and representatives from SomerCor, Kishwaukee College, and more.
