| Michaels Stores are so excited to recognize Libby Raih as our next Team Member Spotlight! Starting as a Store Manager in Training, Libby has been with Michaels over 3 years. She is now the Store Manager at the Michaels store in DeKalb, IL. She also supports her district as the Bridge Development Captain and the Fun-Engagement Captain.
Libby appreciates her Michaels team: “I am blessed to work with a group of talented individuals that I have the privilege to lead. Each of my managers and team members bring unique skills to our craft table. We plan, pivot, and provide a great customer experience daily. Michaels allows me to connect with my DeKalb team and our community in ways to drive engagement and create memorable experiences.” Of the Michaels value she and her team live by every day, she says: “The value that stands out the most for me is, ‘we find FUN in the everyday.’ I enjoy creating unique events for my staff and our customers. After all, we sell glitter and googly eyes! The value that stands out the most for my team would be ‘we’re better together.’ My team learns other tasks to support each other as needed. On a ‘challenging’ day, we stay positive, communicate, and strategize because we know ‘we’ve got this’ because ‘we’re better together’. Libby’s most memorable experience at Michaels is watching her team grow: “It brings me joy to witness team members’ new confidence when they build a skill or meet a goal they didn’t believe they could achieve.
