Barb City Manor, an independent retirement community serving older adults “62 and better,” will launch its annual Light Up The Manor campaign with a free, public Kick-Off Party on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at 680 Haish Blvd., DeKalb. The evening will feature live music, refreshments, kids’ activities, the BCM ReSale Shop open for extended hours, and a sponsor recognition and lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds and sponsorships from Light Up The Manor support BCM’s mission and two key funds: The Resident Assistance Fund (helps residents in financial need reside at BCM) and the The Project Fund (facility improvements and safety enhancements). Community members, businesses, friends, and families are invited to attend, donate, or become business sponsors at the Spark, Flash, or Light It Up levels.
This years display will not only include our four story building covered in twinkling lights, but a yard filled with sponsored sparkly snowmen and penguins. Five foot tall angels will also be available in honor or in memory of a loved one. BCM will have the south side glowing!
