OC Creative Expands West with Agency Acquisition

OC Creative, has recently acquired video production company Pic Two Productions, bringing the creativity and quality they are known for to Moline and the Quad Cities.

Pic Two owner Doug McWhorter was looking to retire and move to Baja California, Mexico, and he wanted someone who knew video production and would continue the same kinds of relationships with his clients as he had built, which includes several divisions of John Deere.

The acquisition went smoothly for two main reasons. First, OC and Pic Two have a very similar method of doing business and working with clients. Two of OC’s core values include “build relationship that last,” and “customize every job for every client.” McWhorter has developed relationships with clients dating back more than 20 years, and he and his team never believed in cookie cutter solutions. Both companies hold that every project and every client is an opportunity for a creative solution.

“It is just amazing to see how Brian & Amy Oster and his team at OC Creative have picked up our legacy of creative and professional video work and are running with it,” says McWhorter.

The second reason the acquisition just worked is that before OC Creative was a twinkle in their eyes, Brian Oster briefly worked for Nehlsen Communications, the sister company of Pic Two. McWhorter and Oster had many interactions more than a decade ago, so this felt to both of them like doing business with an old friend.

In addition, as Pic Two was the video arm for Nehlsen Communications in the Quad Cities, OC looks forward to collaborating with the new owner Matt Sanchez on their team’s endeavors inside the newly named agency Nehlsen Creative.

OC is a 15-person creative agency that provides strategy, concepting, branding, and advertising. Their team is driven by client success and their desire to create original content, including video, graphic design, and web design. www.occreates.com
